A separate committee will be hosting a community parade down Main Street at 11:00 am on July 4th. The Parade route will stage at Lisle Village Hall, then proceed down Center street going North, turn West down School Street, then go South down Main Street and end at Jonquil. The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. On July 4th in Downtown Lisle.
The Parade will proceed down Center Street going North from Village Hall, then go West down School Street, and then South down Main Street, ending at Jonquil.
If you are watching the Parade along Main Street please be sure to sit or stand on the sidewalk South of the School Street and Main Street intersection and North of the Jonquil and Main Street intersection in order to see the parade.
After the Parade please feel free to go to The Museums at Lisle Station Park where you can tour a fire truck or walk the Museums and/or shop Downtown Lisle.
The 4th of July Parade Committee will present the Fourth of July Parade on July 4th, 2012. The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. with “staging” at Lisle Village Hall (925 Burlington Ave., Lisle). The Parade will proceed down Center Street going North, then go West down School Street, and then South down Main Street, ending at Jonquil. Walkers will split off at Jonquil and continue to the Jr. High for pick-up. Cars can continue down Main Street to Lincoln/Route 53 to leave the parade area. After the Parade please feel free to go to The Museums at Lisle Station Park where you can tour a fire truck or walk the Museums and/or shop Downtown Lisle.
This special event will honor those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. This event is made possible by the support of VFW Ross Bishop Memorial Post #5696, Lisle Park District, Village of Lisle, Lisle Area Chamber, Lisle Police Department, Lisle Community Unit School District 202, Lisle Eyes to the Skies Committee, Lisle Woodridge Fire Protection District and Lisle Convention and Visitors Bureau.
If you would like to participate in this worthwhile event please fill out the attached participation form and send it to The Lisle Park District, Att: Wendy Nadeau, 1925 Ohio, Lisle, IL 60532. The deadline for sending in your participation form is Wednesday, June 1st.
There will be no compensation for participation and it’s free to you to participate. We do encourage groups to throw or pass out candy at this event to the spectators!
Kids, Bring your decorated bike to Lisle Village Hall between 10:30 and 10:45am on July 4th for the bike decorating contest which will take place before the parade starts.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will go to the best decorated patriotic bike. All decorated bikes get to participate in the 4th of July parade!
