Tethered Balloon Rides

We do not offer un-tethered balloon rides that fly out of the festival for insurance reasons.

Tethered balloon rides will raise up between 50-100 feet in the air, stay there for a short time so you can get some pictures of the festival and see what the other balloons look like from the air and then come back down. Being tethered means that the balloons are always tied off at multiple points on the field and will not fly out of the festival.

Morning Tethered Rides ($20 per adult/child): Simply show up that morning and purchase your ticket.

Evening Tethered Rides ($20 per adult/child): To avoid people waiting in line all day like they have in past years and not enjoying the festival, we have instituted a reservation system. At 1:00 pm each day on the balloon field, we will begin to hand out colored/numbered vouchers to anyone who would like a ride. Only one voucher will be given per person.

At 4:00 pm, a notice will be posted as to the time that the rider should be in line based on their colored/numbered voucher. There will be a colored passage where the line will form to pay for your tethered ride. Festival volunteers will be there to assist riders in getting into the proper order based upon their voucher. If a rider is not present when their color/number is called, the next rider will be given the ride and their place is lost.

There will be a waiver that has to be signed by all riders in the presence of festival staff. If a rider is less than 18 years of age the parent or guardian must sign the waiver for the minor. Any child under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the tethered ride.

Balloon pilots have the right to refuse anyone they do not deem capable of riding for safety reasons.
